Leaders in Community (LiC) is a youth led voluntary organisation run by a group of active young adults aged between 18-25 from Tower Hamlets and Newham.
We work together to empower young people in leadership and governance through creativity. By providing an environment of creative learning in project development, management, fundraising and leadership skills, LiC act as a support network that allows and encourages young people to have ownership of services and resources.
We aim to inspire young people to actively participate in leadership and governance sessions, so they can gain the skills, knowledge and expertise, to sit in decision making boards to have a representative voice for their peers. We work with the young people to set up youth boards in areas which lack them, so young people have an influential decision making power, which gives them access to resources, as well as the opportunity to make a change in their communities, and for themselves. We provide learning and development opportunities for young people at risk of social exclusions.
