I came across LiC in 2010 whenI was volunteering in Nepal as part of a Voluntary Services Overseas placement. I was working with a youth organisation in Kathmandu and as part of my placement, I was looking for a London based youth organisation that we could create global links with. The next thing I knew I was greeting 8 LiC members at Kathmandu airport, ready for a 10 day cultural exchange programme. The rest shall we say, is history!

I think I learned more in those 10 days, about myself and how to work with young people, than I learned in the whole 12 months I was in Nepal. Since returning to London in October 2010, I have been working in online marketing for a homeless charity as well as helping LiC with their marketing.

I can honestly say I’ve never met such an inspiring and amazing group of young people. The things LiC achieve as an organisation and the individual talent of the volunteers is quite incredible. I am proud to be part of such a hard working, enthusiastic and vibrant organisation and hope to continue working with them for as long as they’ll have me!
