I have recently been appointed the position of finance officer for LiC. Before this I was a volunteer helping  take care of the general office duties such as photo copying, filing, telephone enquiries, and helping my colleagues with their work; which helped developed my skills base. I also had an input in some of the project development work that took place where I proposed certain ideas, finding solutions to problems etc. I now am proud to say that I have taken a big step forward in my career and I have excelled over the last year. Thank you LiC!!

I got involved with LiC when I was 18 years old… as you know we are a charity organisation and most of the work we do is voluntary and I speak for everyone who  part of LiC when I say ‘ It is an absolute JOY’ working with them.

I got involved partly because I’d heard a lot about the organisation as I was growing up… whilst I was in college I didn’t really enjoy further education, so I saw the year out and I decided to drop out of college for the following year, I became lazy and wasn’t doing much to keep myself busy… I was then approached by Momtaz Begum, one of the senior members of LiC, she asked me to come and volunteer with LiC as she knew my current situation, this was the perfect opportunity for me to get back on my feet and I did not hesitate to grab hold of this opportunity and I am so happy I did…
