Why you should get involved

Our volunteers love working on LiC projects because it gives them the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and make positive changes in their local community.

All of our programmes focus on skills development, and you can expect to gain knowledge and experience in:

  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Learning about commitment, time management and how to meet deadlines
  • Making key decisions
  • Stress management
  • Empowering, motivating and inspiring your peers
  • Leading by example
  • Project management, networking, team work, confidence building, and problem solving
  • How to write project plans and funding proposals

How you can get involved

There are a number of ways you can get involved in LiC. However you chose to do it, we guarantee you will gain skills in communication and personal development.

Depending on what activities you are most interested in, what skills you would most like to improve, and how much time you have, there are loads of ways you can get involved:

  • Join one of our training programmes and learn job related skills
  • Develop your creativity with our Centre for Creative Expression
  • Assist in the running of LiC projects in the office and gain valuable admin skills
