Leaders in Community alongside RBS organised a business planning session for 10 young people involved in the Bike City Enterprise.
The Enterprise is a young people led business which will see the group set up a bike repair shop in their local estate, offering a variety of services from repairs and maintenance to recycling old and unwanted bikes. The group are also in plans to work with the Police Authority in a joint venture to repair and resell Police confiscated bikes. The young people are currently drafting up their proposals.

To ensure the enterprise is successful the young people are taking part in a number of enterprise building workshops. They enjoyed their first 2 hour session with Josephine Wong from Global Banking and Markets at RBS. The session focused primarily on financial planning and roles and responsibilities. Leaving the group with a series of action points to get on with. The focus was turned on marketing key services and pricing the products.

The Bike City Enterprise group will be receiving a number of one to one coaching sessions from Josephine over the next few months.

“We are now more motivated because we have the support from RBS, we know we can make this happen and we are eager to do it!”
